Dating Chronicles 002 - The Ghost makes a Reappearance

A couple of months ago Ritalin Girl was dating a guy called Arun. There are plenty of men named Arun in and around London so we feel pretty damn sure we are not compromising anyone’s identity here. He was around 5 ft 10 in, dark and handsome.

Things were going exceedingly well so far. The chemistry was intense. He had a habit of massaging Ritalin Girl’s back and shoulders in random places when they were out somewhere which was a bit weird but a total turn on.

Then one date Ritalin Girl decided to go full disclosure. She told Arun about her bipolar disorder and how it had affected her in years gone by before her diagnosis. See Ritalin Girl has bipolar as well as ADHD. Something ominously termed “comorbidity”. During the date he said all the right things and she thought it had gone down reasonably well.

And then he ghosted her. After revealing information so personal this felt like a real blow. Plus they hadn’t even had sex. All those dates had been building up to… a disappointing cliffhanger.

Nevertheless Ritalin Girl did her best to not feel disappointed and to move on.

Until a couple of months later when she went to visit a friend in another part of London, the same neighbourhood she knew Arun resided in. Not being able to resist her impulsive urges for a bit of excitement, she messaged him and they arranged to meet.

He picked her up from the coffee shop where she was catching up with her friend and they went to a pub. The chemistry was just as strong as it always had been. After a glass of wine they went back to his.

They went into his room with the double bed. They kissed and played lightly with each other. Then Ritalin Girl went into doggy on the bed, her favourite position. Arun entered her from behind whispering her name softly in her ear. He barely lasted 2 minutes. Clearly he was no AA battery or Daddy Dopamine. But the resulting dopamine high had Ritalin Girl feeling on top of the bloody world. Walking back across the river to Waterloo station she had to stop herself from grinning ear to ear so she didn’t look like a bona fide psycho.
